This program is designed for people who require assistance with daily living, such as personal care, mobility, taking medication, etc. or have a medical condition that prevents or hinders their ability to evacuate or provide self care. Patients whose medical care is reliant upon access to electricity such as those on oxygen or taking medications which require refrigeration should also register. Residents of Flagler should consider the ramifications of a post disaster scenario in which there are wide scale impacts where first responders, such as rescue (ambulance) and law enforcement officers are overwhelmed or unable to access neighborhoods for long periods of time due to the roadways being impassable. Should an emergent situation occur the evacuees in shelters are able to receive medical treatment. Flagler County Emergency Management also utilizes the special needs registry as a means to monitor our vulnerable population after no notice or short notice incident, such as a tornado, to ensure emergency services are prioritized accordingly.

Pre-registration is important for the evacuation assistance special needs registry!
Waiting to register for assistance when an evacuation order is issued and underway is an unnecessary risk as it will delay the evacuation process and needlessly endanger lives. You may download the printable application by clicking this link. Instructions are included on the form. You may register online for evacuation assistance by clicking this link.

For questions regarding the evacuation assistance special needs registration program in Flagler or to receive a special needs registration form by mail call our office at 386-313-4200 during business hours Monday - Friday.
